Sinceramente non avevo mai provato questo posto, neppure ne avevo sentito mai parlare; poi, grazie ad una segnalazione di un amico sono riuscito a scoprire un posto veramente particolare. Il Contadino si trova in Via del Palazzuolo, tra la zona della Stazione e quella di Porta a Prato, e da circa 40 anni ha mantenuto le stesse peculiarità e gli stessi metodi, nonchè la stessa famiglia a gestirlo.
I punti advantages are convenience and authenticity, as well as the simplicity of the dishes (unless you love eating a little food processed). The restaurant is simple but clean and tidy, with wooden tables covered in paper and it is frequented by Florentine area, and not, but also by tourists (it is reported in various guides); The weekend is almost always full and this is certainly indicative. The owners are really friendly, helpful and polite. Once you've settled in a few minutes you can choose from about 5 minutes and 5 seconds .. ah .. the menu is not here then, you have little to think about and the selection is made at the time the operator will read the paper. The menu changes every day, you can find the top Spaghetti with tomato sauce and mussels, spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti amatriciana, Pappardelle pasta with mushrooms as well, among the latter I recommend the roast (roast chicken, roast rabbit) and second in wet as the chicken cacciatore or osso bucco. You can also find soups, rice, boiled and also ... the fish, depending on the day.
The service is fast (in fact fast!), this obviously means that not everything is cooked in an express manner (especially the top). There, too, can choose a menu of the day (lunch or dinner) at excellent prices (11 to € 13 all inclusive).
